now see guys...  be nice (even though i knew this was coming).

the problem lies in the fact that, at the current time, we are a small 
company and do not have the development bandwidth to concentrate on 
other browsers, as 98% of the visitors to our site use IE (the other 2% 
being Mac users).  I am a OSX user, and have implemented functions that 
overlook the IE requirement, and allow OSX.  Just this morning I 
received another email complaining about the IE requirement (he was a 
linux user too).  Apparently that was all the fodder that i needed to 
spend the couple of hours "fixing" it so that it also allows Linux 
(until this time, we have had no linux users).  But, we still cannot 
guarantee that the site will function properly under another browser 
because all the testing budget goes to IE (even in safari, some of the 
page layouts are wacky).

The change has been implemented, and the site should now come up.  The 
only other requirement that some may gripe about is flash, and I don't 
believe that at this time there is much we can do about this 
requirement.  Flash makes the nav bar at the top much faster, and 
considering that we have users that still connect via dialup, speed and 
compression are an utmost concern.

And, you're right....  It is powered by linux, but that's about as far 
as my input goes in the decision making.  I'm just the sys admin, i 
don't make decisions about the code.  While it is somewhat dim-witted, 
they also have to focus (for the time being) on the desktop market 
share.  I don't think that anyone would disagree that most people use 
windows on the desktop.  I don't want to start any kind of war or 
anything like that because i generally agree with you, but I still have 
to straddle both sides of the fence here.

But, I hope that despite the earlier flaw, you might give our app a
