One thing that you might find an interesting exercise, is go find
a boatload of resumes on the 'Net, and go through them and sort
out the ones that cause you to think "I'd like to hire this person."
That is, put yourself in the position of the hiring manager,
and see what influences you to put one in the "interview" or "no
interview" pile, respectively.
I make no claim that my own resume is particularly impressive, or an
especially stunning example, and I'm actually planning to rewrite it
sometime in the next few weeks, and actually *apply* the advice from the
books I mention... :-) But if you want to look at it as an example, it's
