[TriLUG] KDE, switching networks, delays starting apps

I've seen this happen when moving between two networks.  As a test, 
try running "xhost +" before shutting down eth0 and see if the problem
still exists when you get home.  I think it's because X11 has setup
security for the ethernet address and when you change addresses it
doesn't quite know what to do.  It must be falling back to the localhost
interface, though, or else nothing would come up.   You might look
into your xauthority files and check if that's saving an ip address
or something.
