Oddly enough I support an OS/2 application at BBT bank. They have
several in the check processing area, mainly because the IBM check
sorters have an OS/2 PC bolted to the front end...
All major banks use the IBM 3890 reader/sorter, which came out in the
late '80's.
My primary responsibility is to create huge account tables that can be
accessed as the checks fly by @ 35 mph. We also run an OS/2 based
reject repair product. A couple other OS/2 apps are tied to our area.
The IBM guys are porting all their OS/2 components to Linux. We should
see Linux products within 6-8 months.
