[TriLUG] yet another theoretical question

Also it would be nice if this device could act as a syslog server to 
gather error messages from routers, firewalls, etc that need to be 
reconfigured.  Now that I think of it I also need snmpget and snmpwalk. 
  These don't have to come RPM'ed, apt-get'ed, yum'ed or whatever, 
though it would be nice if they did, but as long as I can compile them 
I'll be happy.

I'm starting to think that a thinkpad is as small as I can go, and TD 
has them for $500.... but there's got to be SOMETHING out there that is 
small, yet powerful enough, to fit my needs.. keep in mind, it doesn't 
have to be fast.  I'm not playing games here, just working.

I also need PERL::DBI to interact with mysql.
