[TriLUG] Local Time Zone won't get off UTC

Hmm..  Sounded promising, but:
% tzconfig
Your current time zone is set to America/New_York.
Do you want to change that? [n]: n
Your time zone will not be changed.
%

So perhaps the problem lies somewhere else.  All I know is that my IM 
timestamps and the timestamps on my e-mail are in UTC (for example, Mr. 
Porter's mail is tagged 6:26PM).

Next suggestion?  Should I just try restarting X?  I always have this 
knee-jerk sense that I shouldn't have to restart much of anything in 
Linux, usually..  heh.
