[TriLUG] Failing hard drives (laptops)

This thread has been very timely.  After reading the posts
about the proper usage of smartmontools, I discovered
that my laptop at work is about to fail on me.  That explains
the funny noises and other symptoms I have been seeing
lately.  I am backing up my files right now.

Thanks again to the group for the tips.  It's always good
advice.  The only variable is whether or not I am tuned in
and ready to learn the topics.  :-)
