[TriLUG] Linux Digital Audo Workstation and Control surfaces

I'm building using Planet CCRMA  :) . I'm setting up a studio that I 
*hopefully* will be able to use part-time as a second business 
(eventually) as well as record some CD's with/for some folks before. So 
I want to get it right and not have to purchase up and up on the H/W, 
ya' know?  Anyway, I'm looking at the Tascam FW-1884 only because of the 
Firewire bus. I'm also looking at the Tascam US-2400. Granted, I could 
just go DigiDesign 002R. I can't really afford what I want, Dual G5's 
with the 32x4x4 Mackie into the Digi 002, so I'm wanting to stay away 
from the Dark Side too, hence, the happy Tux.
