Problem solved! Apparently, commonapache2.conf has to be in /etc/apache2/ as well as in /etc/apache2/conf, or maybe just in the former, I'm not sure. But I'm not going to mess with it anymore since things are working now. Thanks for your help, and sorry for the slew of e-mails to your inboxes. Randy
