[TriLUG] Logitech QuickCam - no video device found

I really wish it was that simple :)

unfortunately....well, I rebooted it after making the group changes 
because I wanted to get the kernel changes to take effect.

kenobi:~$ id
uid=1000(william) gid=407(william) 
groups=5(tty),16(cron),18(audio),19(cdrom),27(video),35(games),407(william)

any other suggestions?
