Charles, I have used GTKPod and Banshee for syncing music to my ipod.
Both seem to work very well. Although GTKPod is more of just an ipod
syncing app rather than something similar to iTunes. Banshee works fine
and should be what you want to organize your music. Although some have
told me that they had trouble getting their ipod to work with it. I read
on a forum a while ago that this is most likely caused by firmware that
is too new for banshee to recognize.
