The November meeting of the Triangle Linux Users Group (TriLUG) will
be held Thursday, November 9 at 7:00 PM, at Red Hat HQ. Map and
directions available at
http://www.redhat.com/about/contact/ww/americas/raleigh.html

Seth Vidal will discuss YUM, a package management tool for rpm-based
systems. YUM supports multiple architectures, repositories, and
interfaces. Yum is widely used within Fedora Core, CentOS, Yellowdog,
and other Linux distributions.

In the last year and a half YUM has gradually evolved a much more
programmable library interface. This development has promoted a
myriad of interfaces and tools, as well as a plugin interface to allow
users to easily add functionality to YUM without modifying the source
of the YUM program. This has afforded more flexibility for systems
administrators and end users in upgrading their systems.

Doors open at 6:30pm and this meeting is expected to end by 9:00pm.
Pizza, beverages, and wireless (802.11b) Internet access will be
available at this meeting. Questions about TriLUG, TriLUG meetings,
or this announcement can be sent to steering at trilug.org.
