Good call - I read the doc (it chills me to the bone to think of myself
having witnessed all that.) and it looks as though they've hit on some
important trend info.

I wish it were easier to make the call about what effect VMware will
have on the progression: my guess is that it will accelerate the 64 bit
phase as industry drives consolidation to virtual machines. Heck: I'm
ready to convert to all virtuals at home...legally, for free....

I also think it'll give Linux a new foothold in corp. data centers. I've
got one Windows fellow-admin who's been surprising in his embrace of
Linux after experiencing VMware....

I still want us to have a catchy marketing phrase that'll find itself
into the business lexicon. Maybe "Linux: World Leading O/S for server
consolidation"? :-)
