Evolution is buggy as everyone knows.  I was using dumped it for
thunderbird, which works infinitely better if you don't need the
exchange calander crap and all you need is email.  Saddly I went back to
evolution so I could sync my palm easier.   If you go the evolution
route be prepared for some pain every once and a while.
