[TriLUG] Follow-up: why do you run multiple distros?

I started out using Slackware back in '92 and had to download the disk sets from sunsite. Since then I have tried out several distros to see which ones I like. I ran mandrake for a LONG time and eventually switched to redhat. Ran until the fc change and used fc exclusively up until a couple of weeks ago. I installed centos on a box to play with and ubuntu on an empty drive to play with.
I am going to switch to ubuntu as I am VERY impressed with it. I have become increasingly frustrated with my fc6 install. One of the updates made a change to the os that makes the machine unstable(reboots at random during day and kicks user out of session back to gdm login). As I don't actually do $WORK on my home machines, a wipe and reinstall is never too far away. I have removable drive bays, so booting ubuntu is just a matter of swapping drives and restarting the machine.
At work, I use whatever live distro that I have handy(usually slax and ubuntu) to boot one of the unused machines to noodle around with. Since we use windows at work, it doesn't really count I guess.
