Oh you really don't want to be near me when those obnoxious survey
takers at the mall intercept me.  I'm not on my best behavior with them.

Actually I think you were ok with the first response.  The second
response almost concedes that they have a reason to detain you, and
certainly you'd have to stop to get all of that out.

They *say* they are doing it to make sure you didn't get overcharged for
your purchase (as if they would know).  Really they do that to prevent a
common shoplifting scam where you can walk right out with something you
stole but have a recent receipt for.  If the receipt is marked then the
door checker knows you've already exited the store once with that
receipt and are probably stealing.  But they don't tell you that.

To those that say "oh it only takes a moment, why are you being such a
pain in the butt?" I have to ask "where do you draw the line?"  If the
big companies and government keep inching over the line, do you keep
pulling the line back farther and farther?

I'd rather just say "No, thank you" and preserve my rights & my dignity.
