[TriLUG] Upgrading network: new switch or multi-homed server?

Sorry to reply to my own thread but I realized more info might be in
order.
The server is, of course, linux (to stay on topic). My workstation
could use wireless to get to the 'net if the routing through the
server causes performance problems (though I don't think it would).
The other machine is my media front end and it would, for the most
part, only be accessing the server though it can also use wireless if
overhead becomes a problem. All other machines would access both the
server and the 'net through wireless. So it would end up being
something like so:
'net <-> Router/WAP <-> Server <-> Workstation (and media on a
different port)
