FWIW, I looked at some of the email list managers about a year ago...
phplist, mailman, etc. I tried to organize these biz apps into categories in
a book on sourceforge:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bizguide

They were OK but not anything you couldn't make yourself in a few weekends.

Might also be worth a look at SugarCRM, tigercrm et al. These are very nice
sales process management apps and might include newsletters. That's where
I'd start.
