   local_recipient_maps = proxy:unix:passwd.byname $alias_maps

Ok I see that local_recipient_maps gets it information from $alias_maps
The value of alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases

I have only one entry in aliases which changes root to gsdsysop.
It doesnt look like local_recipient_maps is the thing, or is it?

Ah! Setting the local_recipient_maps to its default setting got rid of
that particular error.
Now mail is bouncing.

Ok problem solved. Changing the parameter mydomain to the domain name
and then
adding it to the mydestination parameter allowed Postfix to point the
mail at the server
specified by the MX record.

Thanks for the help!
