[TriLUG] apache mod_userdir, strange behavior

Check the error logs at /var/log/httpd/

Also look at the directory rights for /home and for the /home/<user_dir>. If the webserver is running as "apache", then you'll need to give that user rights to /home and /home/<user_dir>.
