[TriLUG] log in issues

Seems to me when I ran into these issues, that I logged in as root at  
a non-gui shell prompt IE alt-f 1.  Then looked in /tmp and removed  
the temporary X files for your user.  Then restarted GDM, Kill -HUP  
gdm  then I could log into the gui
