I agree with this approach... I would get rid of windows if I had a choice
(games at home keep me with windows and the higher ups keep me on windows at
work)

The only concern I would have about taking the VM route.  doesn't VM not
handle full screen app's very well??  best example I can think of off the
top of my head is Battlefield 2142... don't think that game has been ported
over  yet.
