[TriLUG] OT: getting liability insurance

You are correct about omitting yourself on worker's comp. At times, I
get into arguments with myself yet have always worked it out and have
never had to sue myself after getting hurt on a job. Remembering this
little poem always helps me:

Rose are red
Violets are blue
I'm schizophrenic
And so am I

We use Hartford as well. I'd call 'em up. I beleive part of their
liability insurance has to do with the work you are doing, and AFI can
recall, you can opt to not cover yourself if you are the owner (just
your employees).

We have a lot of customers (mostly gov't and manufacturing) that require

us to have a $2M policy with them named as "additional insured", seems
to be pretty standard. For the manufacturing sector, forcing their
vendors to have their own liability insurance supposedly allows them to
reduce the cost for their own coverage, which usually tends to be high
in general...

You might just try calling Cameron Harris (Wachovia Insurance Services)
to see what kind of rate they can give you.
