I like the APC RS line of UPSs, as having the all the features I wanted
for the lowest price when I bought mine. The "Boost and Trim Automatic
Voltage Regulation (AVR)" circuitry minimizes battery wear and annoying
noises of switching to battery in brownouts, which is a handy feature
not found in the cheaper models. It seems like they are being phased
out in favor of the the BACK-UPS PRO models which also have this
feature, and have dropped in price in the 2 years since I've bought my
last UPS.

I bought the RS 1200(model number br1200), which is now no longer being
sold ;-)

I'm sure other brands are good, but so far APC hasn't let me down,
pretty much any management software supports APC hardware, and the
replacement batteries are readily available when they need to be replaced.
