Good design can make or break a project/company/site. And it's so hard
to determine before hand whether a designer or a design company will be
able to do what you want, even if you've looked at their portfolio. I
think people underestimate how hard it is to find a good designer and
how difficult the job actually is. Kind of like programming in a way...
But having said all that, if you already know how to work with HTML and
you're not that picky (which, given the examples you posted in another
part of the thread it doesn't seem like you are), you might consider
buying a template from a site like http://www.templatemonster.com/
