This.

2006 era macbook here. Had the cracking near the palmrest and that
was a covered fix. Didn't know about the battery firmware bug, but
recently purchased a replacement from OWC for < $100.

I need a bash shell to do my work, cygwin and putty aren't cutting it
on windows. I don't want to dick around with worrying about if my
sound isn't going to play or the wireless is going to work or if the
laptop is going to wake up from sleep if it even goes to sleep in the
first place after an apt-get upgrade.

When i cash out my vacation time here i'm headed to a 15" MBP with 8
GB of aftermarket ram, the macbook gets passed on to my wife.

I certainly won't have to wonder if *that* will run VMs or not.

I'm not purchasing turbotax. I did my taxes on the web which worked
fine in Chrome on the mac.
