There was a lengthy discussion about this on the mailing list a month

A number of people at TriLUG have purchased the Netgear WNDR3700 [2]
which has active OpenWRT support.

This meets your cost requirement ($130) and has enough grunt to
satisfy most Triluggers daily bandwidth requirements (heavy).
