Requirements

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science, a
related field, or related experience
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required
Experience in health care or health insurance industry is preferred,
but not required
Strong time management skills, including the ability to work
independently and balance daily operations and projects, required
Ability to occasionally work early, late, or on weekends as projects
demand is required

5+ years of Linux/UNIX server administration experience required
In-depth understanding of Linux/UNIX fundamentals including kernel
subsystems, scheduler, system calls, inter-process communication,
process/resource management and file systems required

Demonstrated problem analysis and resolution skills required

Administration in an environment with 100+ systems preferred

Extensive knowledge of Apache, including performance tuning for
high-volume web traffic. Perl and/or JBOSS experience preferred

Automation experience, using Perl, Python or Ruby and the ability to
read and understand code written in C, preferred

Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of services such as
DNS, SMTP, SSH, HTTPD and DHCP, Postfix, required

Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP, the OSI Model, firewalls, load
balancers and switches preferred

Experience with SAN devices and RAID configuration preferred

Working knowledge of RHEL 5 and 6, including Kickstart, PXE, the use
of package management tools (Yum), the ability to write spec
files and build RPM packages required

An understanding of VMWare virtualization technologies required


Support- Provides support to internal and external
customers via ticketing or phone for Linux servers
and subsystems such as Postfix
Administration- Provides administration for RHEL
for a 200 server RHEL 5.6 environment, including
performance tuning, backups, patch management
and upgrades; Responsible for building new
servers in both on both physical and virtual
infrastructure

Projects- Acts as a subject matter expert for Linux
based systems; Completes project requirements
as required
