Yes, my best guess is that the hardware is flaky.  The machine is not
rebooted often.  It runs well for decent stretches of time, but then
there is a hardware failure or sometimes my relative decides to do
something like "clean up" the cords and things get hosed.  My husband
and I do not have the time to support it anymore and we are looking to
pay for help.
