A simple and lightweight solution I found was landslide (
https://github.com/adamzap/landslide). You use Markdown or ReStructured
Text to outline slides and then convert them to HTML or PDF.

The beauty of it is that there is almost no overhead: Markdown is minimal
and creating a deck of slides boils down to writing a single text file in
my editor of choices (vim). For advanced use cases it looks like you can
even have each slide in its own file or have slides organized in
directories.

This tool is very basic, but that also means it's fast to get going with.
