I concur.  It appears one of the users (iank) with the tacit consent of 
some members of the steering committee has hijacked the channel and is 
operating nuisance bots.  This is at least the second or third time, and 
while once might have been cute as an april fool's joke, this has reached 
the level of denial-of-service.
