The Splat Space address is 331 West Main Street, Durham. There is lots
of parking behind the building. The outside building doors will be
locked, but people will be standing by the phone(s) to get your call to
be let in. The number(s) will be on the outside doors (either front or
back) along with directions ("stairs/elevator to the basement").
Elliot Hauser will be leading discussions of Raspberry Pi and education.
If things get too hectic in the main room the conference room down the
hall will probably be available (or surely, if somebody thought to
update the signup sheet). Coordinated creation/adoption of one each
meetup and google group for the Triangle area would seem like sensible
goals among any others.
I've figured out how to use RPis to prep SD cards so we can use one or
more headless systems on a LAN for prepping people's blank cards in
addition to the laptop and other systems folks bring. At least one of
these will have a hard drive big enough to allow a wide selection of
images to be copied to your card.
Splat Space will have one permanent RPi system after Saturday and this
can be accessed from any system on the Splat Space LAN via vnc, but
there may be constraints to keep it from getting messed up too easily.
We'll call it "splatpi" or some better alternative and hopefully have it
set up for easy access via bonjour. The physical monitor/keyboard/mouse
is TBD and the USB hub will have to be on loan if there isn't a usable
hub in the parts boxes.
I'll have a lot of image files beyond the recommended two that most
folks will want to choose from. If anybody can point me to bits for the
Android 4.0 port I'd appreciate it (2.3 will be available). People are
encouraged to bring their cool stuff: don't assume somebody else will
bring any particular thing, as many folks will not be there all day.
Yes, the early access JDK 8 bits will be available. :-)

PS Splat Spacers: Don't fret if any part of Mount Doom is still in the
room. I'm bringing my beater pickup and we can move the mountain or dog
pile into the back of the truck and put a sign on it for folk to pick
through during the day. I want a power supply or two but the rest will
go to the recycling center in Holly Springs.
