True, that... I stick to Nvidia when I can. Closed driver but good
performance. If that is the case (trident video card ), I dont think
linux would be a good choice.

Brian, you can use xming and putty with X forwarding, your windows
laptop would then become a fancy X display for your Raspberry Pi.
