[TriLUG] Changing password?

I haven't changed my password for shell access on trilug.org in a long
time.  I tried it just now and was unsuccessful.  Is the below output
expected?  If so, please let me know where I am missing something.

ryoung at pilot:~$ passwd
Enter login(LDAP) password:
passwd: Authentication information cannot be recovered
passwd: password unchanged
ryoung at pilot:~$
