[TriLUG] Media Services and Linux

I've been using OpenElec on my AppleTV 1, and I like it. If you dont mind
reducing down the install to busybox, and like the idea of making it more
"appliance" like. Openelec is ideal. There are some weird things I've
encountered with it. For one, I use NFS mounts for media sharing, and
Openelec only allows mounting through a certain specific directory.

In my setup, we use a MySQL database to sync all the XBMC instances, and
with openelec requiring a specific directory, you have to accommodate the
difference in paths.

And now xbmc can directly interface with mythtv and other pvr systems, it's
a great solution.
