Thanks, Bill. I gratefully accept your nomination and I look forward to
serving TriLUG for another year.

I see my primary contributions over the past terms as building consensus
when we're having trouble agreeing and providing counterpoint when we
seem to be moving too quickly on an issue that could benefit from
further consideration. Additionally, I keep us well connected to other
user groups and constituencies in the Triangle area.

As we have discussed in the SC meetings, I am also interested in
increasing the ways in which the rest of the membership can contribute
to the activity and growth of TriLUG. I think we made good progress on
this by encouraging more presentations from the membership, instead of
importing speakers from elsewhere. Now that we've had so many good talks
from locals, we need to work on exporting some of that talent to larger
stages and regional tours.

I also think that the hack days have been a great way of getting more
people involved. Thank you, Bill, for spearheading this effort and
making sure we do it whenever it follows naturally from the monthly
presentation. Our recent co-promoted event with Girl Develop It
(http://www.girldevelopit.com/chapters/raleigh-durham) was also a great
example of how to expand activity in our community. Thanks to Rachel
Hobbs, Cristóbal Palmer, and Bill Farrow for making this happen.

For the coming term, I would like to continue the conversation we
started recently about creating "cabinet" positions to empower
enthusiastic members of TriLUG on specific areas of interest and
ability. I know that I have frequently reminded the SC to be realistic
about what we can take on, since we're busy people like everyone else,
but I believe that we can get around this with a solid structure for
letting others get involved. I will take this on as my specific platform
issue and hope that the new SC will join me in making it real.

I look forward to seeing everyone at tonight's meeting. Thanks for your
vote!

Kind regards,
Justis
