My memory of that is totally fuzzy, as I'd switched to mail order and
just heard about the closing after the fact.
But I moved to this area in the 70s from the Boston area where I'd visit
Polypaks <http://www.flickr.com/photos/oskay/4455981283/>, so I was both
spoiled and apparently unable to resist the allure of factory floor
sweepings. I suspect most on this list don't have the time to deal with
out of spec, let alone defective parts. In fact I'm cautious about
buying from RS because their stuff tends to have very skimpy
documentation and I'm frequently needing specifics (e.g. LED viewing
angle). The "can't be a mid-board" Seeed shield issue is a great example
of how expensive this can be in terms of time and frustration.
