[TriLUG] Newbie linux question

I use Linux Mint (13 Maya) with MATE; and it is is very powerful. My work
laptop is Red Hat 6.4, and the desktops
of these two machines are setup identically.
+++++ For John's CENTOS recommendation. The newest 6.4
Live CD has added the installation option (Bravo CENT team!).
