[TriLUG] Newbie linux question

I've tested peppermint and mint. I am not quite sure the point of peppermint, but mint seems quite nice, however, being that knowing Red Hat is probably the best career decision if you are looking for improving your career options, I recommend Centos. It will not give you the incredible user experience of a Ubuntu or mint, but it has Gnome 2 as a default and it is literally exactly like RedHat, which means you learn the Red Hat methods as you do your daily work. 

This is the recommendation I give all new Linux users that are career minded. Enjoy your Linux and welcome to one of the most expansive areas of learning I have found.
