DevOps Engineer
Position : 1
Location: Western part of Raleigh, NC
Salary Range: $85K at the Tops.
Any successful candidate will have a good selection of the following:
- Passion for automation;
- Strong desire to be part of a cross-functional team;
- Experience with scripting and high-level languages;
- Experience supporting database platforms;
- Experience with monitoring and tuning systems for optimal performance;
- Experience with configuration management automation tools;
- Demonstrated troubleshooting ability using system tools;
- DevOps awareness and orientation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate solid software and/or system engineering fundamentals and have previous experience supporting development activities.
Role and Responsibilities
- Build and deploy product to environments for testing and release
- Automate and otherwise improve process related to running the service (build, deploy, monitor)
- Implement and maintain monitoring solutions
- Create and manage VM images, environments
- Create and/or manage tools supporting product development activities
- Collaborate with fellow developers, test analysts, systems engineers, and product owners
- Drink free beer (or another frosty beverage of your choice) every Thursday afternoon
Qualifications
- Three or more years of professional experience, preferably with a web-based, Software-as-a-Service application
- A bachelor's degree, or equivalent professional experience. A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is a plus
- Openness to Agile process
- A passion for helping teachers teach and students learn
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deploying code to cloud-based resources (e.g., AWS, Rackspace, Joyent, etc.)
- Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMWare, VirtualBox, etc.)
- Some software development and system administration experience
