[TriLUG] open ports on Uverse 2wire gateway

JJ,

OK, so you have a wide open network internally, and you are concerned
about an open port on the modem provided by Uverse.

I suspect that this question is moot, but what makes you think that that
port is also open into your network? 

Like others, I do not depend on, or trust, the equipment provided by my
ISP, and have a firewall that I built, inside my network, that filters
all traffic into my network.
