I came 1 millimeter from buying a Ford Fiesta with a six speed manual
and cruise control. It was **FUN**.
I'm overweight, so when I sit, my legs tend to spread out, and the
console came in so far that I had to bend my ankle awkwardly to
manipulate the gas pedal, which would have been exhausting on long
drives. I think this wouldn't be a problem for a smaller, thinner
person, whose leg would just go straight to the gas pedal.
If that silly center console weren't so constraining, you'd see me
whipping around in that Fiesta right now. If memory serves me, at the
time the MSRP was about $14K, and gas mileage was pretty good.
Word of caution: It's a small car, and in a crash you're going to get
the worst of it.
