I had a Volvo 240 wagon years back.  Also numerous 60's and 70's era cars,
Dodge Darts, a Coronet, a Skylark and a Chevelle.

Stealership mechanics can be a real pain and Honda is living off its hey
day with name recognition.

I only go to the Hyundai Dealership right now for oil changes as that was a
stipulation in my lifetime power train warranty.  Their oil change price is
about $35 for full synthetic so not that bad.  Normally I would just do it
myself.

I will mention when it comes to VW and other German makes it is usually
best to find a good indy shop for those.  They have some of the best
mechanics for those cars.

Also Volvos are great.  If you can get around the boxy reputation.  They
handle, are practical, drive well, last and hold their value.  Not exactly
glamorous to most but they make a heck of a car.  Although be mindful of
early 2000 models as they had a lot of transmission issues.
