Two months later, I finally switched from lastpass to keepassx, inspired by
mhrivnak's talk!
My tidbits:
Latest keepassx from git appears to has no import options. I had to use the
Windows keepass app which has lots of import options, including import >
lastpass to make my import.
I've got my keepassx database sitting in owncloud and a copy syncing
elsewhere in a safe place in case my owncloud server or VPS provider is
unavailable.
I feel more secure not from just doing the keepassx/owncloud thing, but
from removing a password manager from my web browser which could be a
potential attack vector.
I have always felt a bit icky unlocking all of my passwords via a browser
plugin (lastpass) which sits there decrypted for the entire browser session.
