[TriLUG] semi-OT: mail relaying broken for other time warner customers?

Some friends who use their RR POP accounts had a similar problem.
Previously they did have to authenticate to smtp-server.nc.rr.com, but they
only had to use the user-part of their email address. Now it seems to
require the entire email address as the username.
