The Sansa Fuse specifically allows the player to emulate a *storage device*
as well as a *media player*. Many other media players and digital cameras
have the same feature.
When emulating a storage device, it attaches using a USB cable and appears
as a USB thumbdrive (or two).
Manage this storage as one would manage any storage device (cp, ls, rm, or
drag and drop with a file manager), but don't try to reformat it to a
different filesystem.
I managed mine using Linux.
