If you don't need a huge drive, then it shouldn't be an HDD, it should be
an SSD. (Or else upgrade it to an SSD as soon as you get it, and turn the
original HDD into an external backup drive

Under Windows, at least, a creaky old Core 2 Duo with 4 GB and an SSD runs
better than a shiny new i7 with 16 GB and an HDD, for most purposes.
You can pick up a good 240 GB SSD refurb or used on eBay for under $60.
