[TriLUG] [TriEmbed] In Need of Job Advice

So, small companies will pay you quickly. Even 1 to 2 weeks. Large
companies will try to starve you out and delay payment to 6 months. The
group handling the payment wants to starve you out as they want to give the
contracts to their buddy's companies.

Other responses are correct. Send the invoice. Duplicate it with email from
within their internal system and cc'ing your external info. Get as much
documentation as you can on the work you are producing. Specs etc for what
you are delivering. Any emails telling you what to do.

In the end, if its a small/money strapped place, I recommend an ultimatum
from you and you find something else. Stiffing subs is common in
construction from what workers have told me. For example, at project
completion then the workers just never receive their final checks. You
could be working on an open source project for free instead!

Good luck,
Tim
