Yahoo has become such crap, sorry for the blank email. Yahoo is the number one reason for my browser having issues. Nuff Said!!

Your statement about root has confused me. I am not even sure what you are trying to say. I use ssh -X all the time and never have issues. However, if you can, I recommend X2GO. It usually loads by default from all major linux distros and just works with no configuration other than ssh already open and available. You will need to load the server on the side to access and the client on your box. 
It really is super quick and easy.

I've tried ssh -X on occasion but every time I've used it, it takes over
my X root/replaces my X root with the one from the remote device. When
that happens, how do I undo that? Is this a misconfig on my end or the
remote end?
