[TriLUG] Wireless AP recommendation

I have 5 APs at my house, a dozen at my son's school, and have helped
install, manage and support probably half a dozen different Ubiquiti
installations over the past few years.  I've used the cheap $60 discs, the
more-expensive Pro units, and some of the longer-range point-to-point
gear.  They're all really inexpensive for what they offer, and surprisingly
robust and high quality for their price point.  The management interface
(although Java and MongoDB-based) is surprisingly pleasant and end-user
friendly, and there is no real-time dependency on it.  You only need it to
configure the APs.  I highly recommend you run it in the cloud on a small
VM, and setup the local DNS or DHCP config so the APs find it
automatically.  If you do have to dive under the covers, the APs expose SSH
on port 22, and you can SCP a config file to them to manage them yourself.

I have no direct experience with the other Unifi products (ERL, etc) but
have heard universally good things from a large swath of my peers whose
opinions I highly respect.
